Description
The Volkswagen ID4 Crozz electric crossover has been produced since 2021. It has the following dimensional characteristics:
- Length – 4.59 m;
- Width – 1.85 m;
- Height – 1.63 m;
- Wheelbase length – 2,765 m.
MacPherson strut suspension is installed on the front axle, and an independent five-link suspension is installed on the rear axle. Front brakes are ventilated disc brakes, rear brakes are drum brakes. Handbrake – electric.
Design and interior
Volkswagen ID4 Crozz retains the fast, smooth and aggressive silhouette of the body, characteristic of the ID4 crossover series. Its body has a drag coefficient of only 0.28, which is the lowest coefficient among sports crossovers.
The interior is spacious for both the driver and front passenger, and for rear-row passengers. The interior space of the crossover was also enough for a spacious trunk, its volume was 512 liters.
The salon in all trim levels is equipped with air conditioning, adaptive cruise control and parking sensors. Starting with the third most expensive configuration, the crossover is equipped with a rear camera with a 360-degree viewing angle and 30-color interior lighting.
Battery: range and charging time
In the basic configuration, the electric car is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 55 kW; in top trim levels, the battery capacity is increased to 84.8 kW. The range on one charge for the basic configuration is 400 km. For an 84.8-kilowatt battery, the range is 550 km.
The battery replenishes 30% charge in 12 minutes, 80% charge in 40 minutes. The average charging current power is 110 kW. After 80% and after 90% of the charge, the current power drops as expected, and the charge replenishment time increases accordingly.
Construction
The Volkswagen ID4 Crozz electric crossover is built on the universal MEV platform. Its batteries are placed in the bottom of the car, and the electric motor is installed above the drive axle. If the Volkswagen ID4 Crozz comes in an all-wheel drive (top) version, then the electric car has two electric motors located above the front and rear axles.
In the basic configuration, the crossover is equipped with an electric motor with a power of 125 hp; in all other trim levels, the electric motor power is increased to 150 hp.
The Volkswagen ID4 Crozz is equipped with alloy wheels with a diameter of 19, 20 and 21 inches.
Safety
In all trim levels, the Volkswagen ID4 Crozz crossover is equipped with:
- Front airbags for driver and front passenger;
- Side airbags for the front and second row of seats;
- Front and rear curtain airbags.
The German electric car is equipped with the following safety devices, starting with the basic configuration:
- Anti-lock braking system (ABS);
- Brake force distribution (EBD);
- Brake Assist;
- Traction Control System (TCS);
- Stabilization system (ESP);
- Active braking system;
- Automatic handbrake;
- Lift Assist System;
- Blind Spot Monitoring System.

The Volkswagen ID4 Crozz electric crossover is available in five trim levels, differing in interior equipment and level of comfort for the driver and passengers. For example, in the basic configuration the mirrors are equipped only with heating and electrical adjustment, while in the top configuration the mirrors are equipped with heating, electrical adjustment, memory, and an automatic folding function, including when reversing.
