Description
The Volkswagen E-Lavida electric car has been produced since 2018. Its dimensions are:
- Length – 4.67 m;
- Width – 1.8 m;
- Height – 1.47 m;
- Wheelbase length – 2.69 m.
McPherson strut suspension is installed on the front axle, and independent multi-link suspension is installed on the rear axle. Ventilated disc brakes are installed on the front and rear axles. The electric sedan is equipped with alloy wheels measuring 205/55 R16.
Design and interior
The design and body silhouette of the electric car are the same as the Volkswagen Lavida, equipped with an internal combustion engine.
The interior of the Volkswagen E-Lavida electric sedan is also almost completely identical to the interior of a sedan equipped with an internal combustion engine. We can say that the interior is as unified as possible. It contains many elements found in other models of the German concern, for example, in the Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Jetta. In particular, the shape of the climate control unit and the shape of the steering wheel and instrument panel have been unified. But the latter has been modified to suit the features of operation on an electric vehicle. So, instead of a tachometer, an analog panel is installed, indicating the percentage of electricity consumed by the electric motor. Instead of fuel quantity, a small digital screen (the same as the Volkswagen Jetta) shows electricity consumption per 100 km or per hour (if the car is stationary).
The interior of the Volkswagen E-Lavida is equipped with:
- Front and rear ventilated seats;
- Heated front and rear seats;
- Multifunctional leather steering wheel, adjustable in height and reach;
- Multimedia system with GPS navigation and Bluetooth;
- Power windows for front and rear doors;
- Adjustment and heating of mirrors;
- Rain sensor.
Trunk volume – 510 l.
Battery: range and charging time
The Volkswagen E-Lavida is equipped with a lithium battery with a capacity of 38.1 kW. The range for a fully charged battery is 340 km. But the practical range is 300 km, since part of the battery capacity is spent on the car's electronic systems. In winter, with the heater on, the range is reduced to 250 km. Full charging time from a household electrical outlet is 12 hours. Fast charging time is 5 hours, but 60% of the battery capacity can be replenished in less than an hour.
Construction
The Volkswagen E-Lavida electric sedan is equipped with a synchronous electric motor with a power of 136 hp, which creates a maximum torque of 290 Nm. Maximum speed – 160 km/h. The engine is coupled with an automatic single-stage transmission.
The electric motor operates in three modes:
- Normal;
- Eco;
- Eco+.
The electric car comes with plugs for fast and slow charging. The latter will have to be converted from Chinese to European standard, and an adapter will be required for the fast charging plug.
Safety
The Volkswagen E-Lavida electric sedan is equipped with the following safety devices:
- Front and rear parking sensors;
- Anti-lock braking system (ABS);
- Brake force distribution (EBD);
- Brake Assist;
- Traction control system (TCS);
- Stabilization system (ESP);
- Active braking system;
- Automatic hand brake;
- Lifting assistance system.
The interior is also equipped with:
- Front airbag for driver and front passenger;
- Side airbags for the front row of seats;
- Front and rear curtain airbags;
- Isofix child seat anchors.
