Description

The Tesla Model Y electric car is assembled at a specially built plant in China. The dimensional characteristics of this electric sports car are as follows:

Length – 4.28 m;
Width – 1.77 m;
Height – 1,625 m;
Wheelbase length – 2.89 m.

An independent double-wishbone suspension is installed on the front axle, and an independent multi-link suspension is installed on the rear axle. Ventilated disc brakes are installed on both axles.

Design and interior

In the appearance of the Tesla Model Y there is a lot from the Tesla Model 3, but the Model Y has a design closer to the class of family cars. But at the same time, the silhouette has not lost its sporty outline. Aerodynamic body contours reduced air resistance, which means increased range on a single charge. This will be noticeable primarily during country trips at speeds close to maximum.

To reduce the consumption of battery capacity, all the optics of the Tesla Model Y are LED, including fog lights. Automotive optics are equipped with a headlight height adjustment function and automatic switching to low beam.

The interior of the salon amazes with its minimalism and even asceticism. Comfortable leather chairs, wide armrests, a double stand for large glasses, but the Tesla Model Y does not have the usual dashboard and dashboard at all. All this is replaced by a single touch screen, which displays all the information about the vehicle’s on-board systems and current driving data (speed, battery charge, range, etc.). You can control the screen not only by touch, but also by voice commands. The screen also has ports for Flash drives, onto which video data from the electric vehicle’s surveillance cameras is automatically recorded.

Due to the absence of traditional multimedia system screens and climate control, as well as the absence of an internal combustion engine under the hood, the interior is very spacious. There is enough space for both the driver and rear row passengers. There was also enough space for the trunk. Its volume is 1840 liters. In this case, the tailgate is equipped with an electric lifting drive.

The Tesla Model Y interior is equipped with:

Construction

Tesla Model Y is all-wheel drive in both versions. Therefore, it is equipped with two permanent magnet synchronous electric motors, with which automatic single-stage transmissions are combined. Each axle has its own electric motor.

Battery: range and charging time

Tesla Model Y is equipped with a lithium battery with a capacity of 77 kWh. The power reserve is determined by the power of the electric motor. In the basic version, the power reserve is 594 km, and in the top version – 480 km.

Battery charging is performed in two modes - fast and slow. Fast charging is carried out with constant current and 100% charge replenishment occurs in 4 hours, but 80% charge replenishment occurs in just 22 minutes. Slow charging is carried out using alternating current from a household network. Complete replenishment in slow mode occurs within 14 hours.

Safety

Tesla Model Y is equipped with the following safety devices:

Options

The Tesla Model Y electric car comes in two trim levels - basic and top-end. The differences between these versions are only in the driving characteristics of the electric vehicle:

The basic version is equipped with alloy wheels in the size 255/45 R19, in the top version – 255/35 R21.
A 317-kilowatt electric motor (maximum torque 545 Nm) is installed on the basic version, and a 339-kilowatt (623 Nm) on the top version.
Differences in electric motor power determine differences in maximum speed (217 and 241 km/h, respectively) and acceleration dynamics (5.1 and 3.7 seconds to 100 km/h).

There is no difference between the basic and top version in terms of interior equipment and the list of safety devices.
