Description
The Honda XN-V electric car was presented as a concept in 2019 at the Shanghai Auto Show. Its dimensional characteristics are as follows:
- Length – 4.28 m;
- Width – 1.77 m;
- Height – 1,625 m;
- Wheelbase length – 2.61 m.
McPherson strut suspension is installed on the front axle, and independent multi-link suspension is installed on the rear axle. Ventilation disc brakes are installed on the front and rear axles. The car is equipped with light alloy wheels measuring 215/55 R17.
Design and interior
The design of the Honda XN-V electric crossover has a clearly expressed sporting character. This sporty character was achieved through the use of the following elements:
- Large ventilation holes are installed on the bumper;
- The same ventilation holes were installed next to the rear bumper;
- The front optics are represented by two thin LED headlights;
- The lower edge of the case is lined with black decorative overlays;
- Alloy wheels with signature spoke pattern.
Design and interior
Honda XN-V is manufactured at the Chinese Dongfeng plant, so the logo of the Chinese automaker is installed on its hood. But this is just a marketing ploy to promote an electric car in the Chinese market. By its design, it is a Honda car.
The silhouette of the body, its design and the interior of the cabin are in many ways similar to the Honda HR-V crossover, on the basis of which the electric car was built. The differences between a crossover with an electric engine and a crossover with an internal combustion engine are as follows:
- The hood received a large thin radiator grille;
- Bumpers of a different shape;
- The fog lights received the original “ice cubes” shape.
To reduce the electricity consumption of the battery, all optics of the crossover have been replaced with LED ones.
The Honda XN-V interior is equipped with the following devices that increase the level of safety and driving comfort:
- Rear parking sensors;
- Rear view camera;
- The side mirrors are heated. In addition, they are equipped with LED turn signals;
- Multifunctional steering wheel with height and reach adjustment;
- Panoramic sunroof (in the top configuration it is equipped with an electric drive).
Battery: range and charging time
The Honda XN-V electric crossover is equipped with a lithium battery with a capacity of 53.6 kWh. The rated range when fully charged is 401 km. The electric vehicle supports a recuperation function, which partially replenishes the battery charge by converting braking energy into electrical energy.
Battery recharge occurs in two modes - fast and slow. In fast mode, the battery is recharged using direct current. Full charge replenishment occurs in approximately 1 hour. In slow mode, the battery is replenished with electricity from the household network. The battery is fully charged by AC in approximately 9 hours.
Construction
The Honda XN-V electric car was built on the basis of the Honda HR-V crossover. It is equipped with a synchronous 120-kilowatt electric motor (169 hp) with permanent magnets. It is coupled with an automatic single-stage transmission.
Safety
The Honda XN-V electric car received the highest rating from Euro NCAP - five stars out of five. The electric crossover is equipped with the following safety devices:
- ABS;
- EBD;
- Traction Control System (TCS);
- Emergency Brake Alert System (ESS);
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
Options
The Honda XN-V electric car is available in two trim levels - basic and top-end. The differences between them are small, and the price difference between them is about $1,500.
